“Bug off”…..

“Bed Bugs and other Things”

“Have you ever thought about what is on those filthy looking seats in the movie theatres and airplanes? We did and what we found are hundreds of allergens, perfumes, oils, chemicals, lice, bed bugs, mites, bacteria, germs, parasites and ringworm (yes ringworm!). What about the fact that those seats rarely get cleaned. Gross! ” via http://bugoffchaircover.com/default.html

What Spreads Faster Than Bedbugs? Stigma – NYTimes.com.

Since I read this article in the NYTimes awhile ago, I literally have not been to a movie outside the comfort of my own family room…now there is hope.

No kidding… I wonder if something like this will catch on? I am not so sure but after giving it some thought my conclusion is this.

If I bring one of these seat covers  to the theatre or airplane wouldn’t I just bring home all these “critters” on the cover…YUK!

So, how about a disposable cover…but how comfortable would that be and what kind of barrier does it actually provide? Never mind…the looks I would get as I spread out my personal seat cover!

Is there really anything out there that will protect me from coming in contact with these “critters” if they are inhabiting my theatre seat with me?

Honestly, I don’t think so…and my concerns have caused me to miss some  great films on the big screen in addition to some really delicious popcorn.

So…to hell with you “bed bugs” and your friends…I am going to the movies. Please pass the popcorn!

    Hey Lorette,

    You have such interesting blogs.
I was searching on this bugoff product on google, and found your blog.
I ended up finding it.. (bugoffseatcover.com)

Good points you make, but the ones I found are disposable $3 ones, like you suggested!
They have black btw so no one will know.

But I can’t testify for them, because I never saw a movie with it.
